Wireless optical communications have become a significant research topic in the past years and are gaining significance for industrial use. We have launched the workshop focused on experimental construction and testing of wireless optical systems to empower participants in their research by creating open source open hardware wireless optical system KORUZA to gain necessary skills in equipment construction.
With this testbed platform you can effectively create operational links by modifying only the components of your interest. During a week long workshop we will take you step-by-step through assembly of KORUZA, teach you basics of 3D modeling and modification of the assembly for your own purposes and conclude with atmospheric attenuation testing in our 50 m long fog tunnel, characterizing built devices in fog and smoke.
Event will be held in Maribor, Slovenia between 21st and 25th November 2016 for up to 5 participants. The cost per participant, including all parts required to assemble one fully operational KORUZA to take home is 2000EUR, excluding any accommodation and travel costs.

A week long workshop held at Institute IRNAS Rače in Slovenia will focus on educating the participants on the detailed operation of wireless optical system KORUZA, guide them though step-by-step assembly of the system, calibration and testing on our test range. Empowered with knowledge and experience participants will be be able to use KORUZA assembly kits to construct and calibrate more units independently as well as design modification for scientific applications. Subject to availability, testing of the system in the 50m long FSO testing tunnel currently under construction.
Event will be held in Maribor, Slovenia periodically, the first dates available are 23rd to 27th November 2015 for up to 5 participants. The cost per participant, including all parts required to assemble one fully operational KORUZA to take home is 2000EUR, excluding any accommodation and travel costs.
Applications can be made by mail: email@example.com. You can find more about the KORUZA system online on our web page. If you have any additional question or require more information feel free to contact us.
